This weekend I have been taking a bag course with Andre Wallenborg, a Norwegian designer. It was my local quilt guild, Bærum Lappelag, who arranged this. Andre Wallenborg held parallel courses on 3 different bagmodels, so he had enough to do this weekend .... I chose to sew a Weekend bag and my bas is as good as finished. The only thing missing is to sew the bottom in the lining.
The only material I had to decide on was the front fabric, everything else is provided by Andre Wallenborg. I ended up using with this fabric on the front of my bag.
Bunn og hanker er i sort, det samme er alle stikninger. Jeg vurderer å ta opp stikningen rundt vesken, den ble ikke helt 100%. Vi får se hva jeg får gjort i løpet av kvelden!
Bottom and shoulder straps are in black, as are all the stitching.
The front of the bag has a hidden outer pocket.
It is fun to attend Andre Wallenborg's courses since he has a slightly different approach to sewing bags than us quiltng ladies and the bag patterns have lots of tricks to "click" the parts into the right place. I think the result ended up very professional, and that means that I will use the bag a little more than if I should have sewn one on my own.
En stor takk til lappelaget som tok seg bryderiet med å holde kurs.
A big thank you to the quilt guild who took the trouble of hosting these courses.
